Tree Pruning

Pruning trees could be done for a variety of reasons. Pruning could be done to improve views, clear structures, maintain health, deadwood prune, sail reduction, and prune for structure. Some pruning could be done year-round, while others are recommended to be pruned during the tree’s dormant season. Our staff is trained to correctly prune trees by a Certified Arborist.

Here are our main pruning objectives:

  • Structural Pruning: Improve the branch structure and crown development of a tree. The earlier you start with this pruning, the better. This type of pruning is recommended to be completed every few years for the best results.

  • Maintaining Health: It’s important to maintain healthy trees. This type of pruning improves the appearance of the tree as well as keeps the tree healthier by removing any dead, disease, or broken branches.

  • Risk Mitigation: This type of pruning is done for storm damaged trees that need to have proper pruning done to repair any damage done to them.
  • Size Management: This is where the tree is pruned to decrease the size of the tree.

  • Canopy Elevation: This pruning objective looks at pruning for vehicle access, clearing structures, line of sight or safety reasons. This also includes removing some lower branches.
