Stump Grinding

When grinding stumps, we take pride in a first-class job. This means grinding the stump and the complete mound around the stump, and chasing the surface roots, so the area can be leveled. We have always considered this creative stump grinding.

Our small grinder can get through tight areas. Our large self-propelled stump grinder, packing over 100 horsepower, can make it through a 36” gate. Our boulevard stump grinder can grind stumps 36” tall and any diameter needed.

  • Utilities: All stumps require a locate. It’s the law! Rick’s Tree & Stump Removal performs the locate request. If you have any unmarked underground utilities, such as sprinklers, drain lines, invisible fences, or underground cables, please make us aware of them.

  • Clean Up: When you have a stump ground out, you end up with mulch. The size of the stump and type of tree stump depends on how much mulch you will have. Smaller stumps don’t produce much mulch to speak of, but large stumps can produce a significant amount of mulch.

We Offer Stump Grinding Services

  • Grind stump, leave mulch: We grind the stump leave you with a hole where the stump was, plus a pile of dirt and mulch near where the stump was and sporadically thrown around an approximate 10 foot area.
  • Grind Stump, Remove Excess Mulch: We grind the stump, fill the hole where the stump was level with the ground around it, and haul away any extra dirt / mulch.

  • Stump Treatments: We also offer a stump spray treatment. This treatment is an herbicide that prevents re-sprouting. This is a good option for stumps we are unable to grind that are growing out of foundations or on a steep hill.
